Storm Relief Mission Trip

The Presbytery has scheduled a Mission Trip through the PDA for the week of April 15th-21st to Johnson City, New York to help rebuild after the flooding they sustained from hurricane Irene.   Participants will be housed and fed at 1st Presbyterian in Johnson City.  The cost is $20/ person per night, but there are funds remaining from a grant that will defray that cost.  Plan on additional expenses related to getting there (extra meals and gas).  There are 30 spots available, and they’ll be allocated to those who respond soonest.  Reply to Rev. Why we do what we do...

A photo of the SEM Pantry shelves as found on a recent morning by MWPC volunteers who deliver food to the pantry.  We were shocked - and thought that those others of you who helped recently would be as well - at the emptiness of the shelves.  Only a week earlier these shelves were stacked 2 and 3 rows high.  It is easy to forget just how much food SEM gives out in a given day or week, and how great the need remains in our neighborhoods.
